You use the Backup Exec drivers for the tape drive. Run tapeinst.exe to install this. It is recommended to use the Symantec drivers over the vendor's drivers.
If this is an autoloader/library, then make sure the robotics show as Unknown Medium Changer in Windows Device Manager.
Thanks!

Ideally, the changer should appear as Unknown and be using the Microsoft driver. Use this KB - https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH124860
If the media server is running an OS prior to Win 2012, then use these steps to install Symantec driver for the tape drive -
On the Storage tab, in the Configure group, click Configure Storage.
2 On the wizard panel, select Tape Storage, and then click Next.
3 Select Install tape device drivers, and then click Next.
4 On the Symantec Device Driver Installation Wizard, follow the on-screen
prompts. In a nutshell, there are two drivers to be updated -
1) Changer - Use Microsoft driver so that it shows as Unknown
2) Drive - Use Symantec driver
