IDR Restore Test Failed

Hi,

I am testing the IDR restore and have come across the following problem after the disk has been formatted:

"the following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corrupted or missing value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles] Setup cannot continue"

What is the problem?

Thanks

  • Hello,

SIF file is a Windows NT Setup Information file. The unattended installation (Windows NT) process uses text files -which are called setup information (SIF) files - to store the configuration settings for the installation image.

The IDR disk which you have created did not got created properly. Make sure the ISO image which you provide at the time of creating the IDR disk is bootable.

What is the version ob Backup Exec and Windows OS on which you are creating the IDR disk?

  • Hi Dev T,

I am using backup exec 10d. Windows is SBS2003.

The CD did boot and managed to get as far as formatting the disk before getting the error above.

    Thanks.
