Inquiry regarding external drive

Hi.

I duplicated a backup set to an external removable drive from our live storage to act as cold storage, in my tests when i delete the backup set on the removable drive it marks the original sets as dependent backup sets.

Will expiring the duplicated set on the removable drive also expire the ones on the live storage device?

What if expire the ones on the live storage will it also attempt to delete the ones on the removable drive?
