Job elapsed time incorrect

I'm testing BE 2010 so I'm running everything on the server via a remote desktop.  I left a job running overnight, and the last activity in the job log completed 3.5 hours after it started, a few hours after I left for the day.
The last item in the log, Job Completion Status, shows the job completing at the time in the morning when I switched to the remote desktop window.

So some time since BE 9.1 the job completion has been tied to the GUI.
  • I guess this might be the cause .
You must have ran the backup job using the option to eject media after the backup complete , The job completed withing 3.5 hours and ejected the tape ...but the Job would be in the running state if the alert for the remove media is not cleared ...once you respond to the alert the backup job states is successful .. but elasped time would longer ...
You can set the media remove alert to clear automaticall after some specific time .
Let me know if my guess is right ......

  • Yes, the media is set to eject after the job completes.  I've already turned off notifications for it already.  I'll set it to clear immediately and see what it does tonight.  Thanks.
