Linux Incremntal backups.

I have a linux server I am trying to backup. I want to do Full and incremental backups. I understand that the archive bit isn't understood by Linux. From what I have gathered you need to go off a modified date mode to get incrementals to function. Can anyone explain to me how to get this working. I am looking for doc and can't really find anything.

  • @ AmolB No AV on the Linux Box, but I do have it on the Backup Server.

@pkh Also we are running Ubuntu 12.04.

  • Check the SCL below to make sure that Linux variant that you are using is supported. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH217478
  • Is there any Anti Virus running on the linux server?

  • This is how it is set currently. I have attached a picture.

  • Have you tried running a full and then an incremental backup?

  • I feel stupid that I missed that, but on checking this that is the way it is set currenty. I have my Full backup and incremental set.

  • In the Backup Options windows -> Files and Folders tab -> Bakcup method for files -> select

    modified time.

  • I do have the agent installed and the server added to BE.
