Missed assignments and lack of notification in Backup Exec 2010

There is a server running Backup Exec 2010 R3. To him connected DAS. In case of trouble with the electricity turned off shelf. In the BE in the "device" is shown that this server is suspended. And all jobs are omitted from the error e000e020.

I have two questions:

1) Can I do to BE himself checks for folders, and drew out of "waiting"?

2) The mood will be notified by mail when a job does not work if the job is skipped. In fact, there is no current backup, and no notice. Is it possible to include such notices?

Sorry for my english.
  • Hello

The jobs are getting missed because maybe at that time the devices are not availble or busy.

You have to configure notification inorder to receive alerts.

For eg. you can get alerts on BE service start , stop , media alerts , job cancelled etc. You need to explore the list & find out the categories that suits your requirement

No.  You have to make sure that the device is on-line yourself.  You can create a script to set the B2D folders on line and schedule it to execute before the start of your backup window using the Windows scheduler.

You can use BEMCMD to pause/unpause the B2D folders.

    2) The mood will be notified by mail when a job does not work if the job is skipped.

    Again, this cannot be done.
  • Thanks, I found the answer to the second question:

  • Thank you for your reply. As far as I understood, there is no automated BE built-in tools to enable\unpause B2D folders before performing the task?
The last time due to off the shelf was suspended just a backup server (navigation bar, devices),not a separate B2D folder.

  • I set up an alert. Notifications come if the task is executed or completed with an error. But if it isomitted, no notification. Below is given an answer to my question.
