Hi,
Recently we have installed on Backup exec server the oracle agent, and we have a problem when we want install it on the oracle server.
So, when we configure the backup exec agent, oracle tab, we received this error:
Have you an idea for this problem ?
When we connect to the database with sqlplus, we have not any problem.

I have always the error.
We used Backup Exec 2010 R3 and Oracle 11.2.
This is the log we have when we try to connect to oracle with backup exec agent:

Was the agent push installed or locally installed ? If locally installed, is the necessary info populated under the Publishing tab of the Remote Agent utility ?
Lastly, pls enable sgmon debugging on the oracle server & post/pm the output.
- Open SGMon from \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\RAWS
- Select the following items from the main screen of Debug Monitor: RAWS, Capture to File.
- Click Clear Log.
- Inside Debug Monitor, go to Tools\Settings. Select Agents on the left side. Then select Oracle RMAN on the right and set it to Low
- Inside the Tools\Settings dialog, select Job Engine & Remote Agent on the left. Then select Enable Job Engine and Remote Agent Debug outside of SGMon.
- Reproduce the error by trying to add the necessary info via the remote agent utility again.
- The logs are created under Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\RAWS\Logs and are named ServerName-SGMon.log, ServerName-BERemote##.log
- Once the logs are collected, disable SGmon debugging by clearing all the previously checked options.

Secondly, would you confirm if the installed agent on the oracle server is the same version as that of the media server (13.0.5204)
Lastly, is there a trust relationship established ? Are you able to expand the server & select local drives from the backup selections ?

Lastly, is there a trust relationship established ? Are you able to expand the server & select local drives from the backup selections ?
Yes, actually, we have a job who backup part of this server.
Is port 5633 open @ the Oracle server ?
If yes & as you have already confirmed the account is part of local admin on the Oracle server + a member of SYSDBA group (this is different from DBA group), the necessary permissions are in place.
Pls ensure you are using the FQDN and not IP address in the remote agent utility. Lastly, are you following the process as mentioned in http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH54288
