Question to Agent Applicatio and Database

Hi All,

I see with Backup Exec 2012 Symantec has consolidated the Agent for SQL, Exchange, Sharepoint to Agent for Application and Databaspe. As I see in the License PDF the licensing is per application.

I'm not 100% sure what does it mean? If I purchase one license for the Agent will it protect one Sharepoint, SQL and Exchange application or would I need to purchase 3 license of the agent to cover them?

    1 Agent for Application & Database license will support only 1 application.

    So to backup Sharepoint, SQL & Exchange you would requie 3 Agent for App & Database license. 

    EDIT: Refer to pg #9 of  BE2012 Licensing Guide.

    Per application means you need to purchase 1 Agent for Application and Database license per Exchange/SQL/SharePoint/etc server.

    In your case, you will need 3 nos. of Agent for Application and Database licenses.
