Restore using GRT fails with 0xe00002fe

I fail to restore individual messages from Exchange 2007 SP2 backup, the error is "0xe00002fe - Cannot log on to MAPI with the specified credentials. Review the resource credentials for the job, and then run the job again".
The user account from which I'm doing this operation is Enterprise Administrator, has an activated mailbox and is not hidden from GAL.. Also the credetials test in job creation window completes succesfully.
Tried to reinstall "Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1" both on the Exchange and on the Backup Exec Servers with no success...
Tried to troubleshoot using this article http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/311718.htm, and everything should be working fine (on the other server, which I'm moving to new hardware everything works just fine).
Then tried to create a new user account following the instructions in http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/288777.htm, but also no success..
What else can I try to resolve my problem? I kinda ran out options here..

    make sure raws is updated to latest version, exchange managemet tool installed on BE shuld have the same version as that of exchange.

    Also if your exchange server is installed on ws 2008 then make sure you edit the host file and put the details as below
    #::1
    exchange ip address full computer name of exchange
    exchange ip address fqdn
    BE ip address full computer name
    BE ip address fqdn

    try to restart the services once done and try it again

    All software is latest versions and the management tools versions are the same. And I'm using Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Standard Edition.

    Hello,

    Create a new account in AD named : symantec with following settings:
    1  : Member of the Domain Admin group and Local Admin Group if Exchange is a member server
    2  : Create a Mailbox for Symantec, send a test email and oprn it in OWA to activate the Mailbox.
    3  : Make sure that the Mailbox is not hidden from the Global Address List.
    4  : Add the account "symantec" as Exchange Server Administrator in Exchange Management Console.

    Open Backup Exec, go to TOOLS--Logon Accounts and Change the Logon Account to "symantec", make sure that "system Logon Account" and "Default Logon Account" is symantec.

    Now restore any individual item from exchange backups.

    Just found out, that backup can't be restore only from tape device, when restoring from backup-to-disk folder everything is ok..
    Does GRT work with tape devices?

    I changed the temp files location to another disk at the very beginning.. That disk has 34GB free space, while the backup-to-disk folder with one backup is 13,4GB. Are the 34GB enough for the staging process?
    The restore fails with the error "0xe00002fe - Cannot log on to MAPI with the specified credentials. Review the resource credentials for the job, and then run the job again" and the byte count is 21.836.914, which is not even near 13.4GB, I think it's not normal situation..
    What else can I try?

    Hi Romax...is your service account delegated authority in Exchange itself?
    Have you tried duplicating BEFORE restoring? That byte count doesn't appear right at all, but it COULD possibly be replaying logs as well, which might explain the larger size.
    From my side, I always duplicate to disk before restoring. It just makes things easier.

    Well, this method does work... But it's basically "emulation" of backup2disk folder and it takes time to create this folder...
    Is there any way to restore directly from tape, so that Backup Exec performs this staging operation on it's own? Somehow like in ArcServe?

    It actually does perform that operation on its own. But I haven't seen much success myself with doing it from tape itself. All that needs to happen is the tape doesn't stream as quickly as it should, and the process fails, meaning you start it all over again.
    By default it sends it to the C:\Temp directory, unless it is pointed elsewhere. Which is what you have done...
