Restoring system state

I am using BackupExec v8.6 and simply trying to restore
system state. But, In the Active monitor tab, its status says "on hold(failed)"  Why does this happen?

The pc is running 2kserver
(not setting up Active directory and Domain Controller)

1.I backup a system state and save into the folder('backup to disk folder').

2. Then, I reboot and start as Directory Service Mode (it may not be neccesary)

3. Then, I choose the folder and press [restore] button.

That's it. But I can't restore at all. What is missing?

Thank you for advance

  • Restoring System state:
1  : Are you restoring it on a Domain Controller from which the System state was backed up?
2  : as I understand you have performed a resore on System state on a folder.

Is it correct? Please breaf about what is the setup and how are you trying to restore system state on a domain controller...

  •  Do not do this step..
    2. Then, I reboot and start as Directory Service Mode (it may not be neccesary)

  • Hello,

    As I understand:
Backed the C-Drive and the System state on a B2D folder and you need to restore it again.

    Before Restoring:
1  : Start all the BE Services in Local system Account.
2  : Restart the server in DSRM.
    3  : Perform a System state Restore.
