Is this disk thick or thin provisioned? If it is the former, then only the used blocks would be backed up, resulting in less data

...do you know how dedupe works? You then need to check the dedupe ratio you are getting as this is possibly why your backup size is a lot smaller.

The more a dedupe backup runs, the better the results, the better the dedupe ratio and the smaller the backups.

i backup to deduplication. not yet backup to tape.

how can i check compression? because copression status "none".

...this might be due to compression. Check that tape and see what sort of compression you are getting.
