Right click, "Details", not displaying in All Storage BE 2012 Small business

Hi all.

I'm trying to rename a tape that is in my drive.

I go to Storage tab, select the tape drive, right click and all the options appear, however when I select Details, nothing happens.  I have waited and waited and get no further.  This happens for all the storage listed on this page.  I can right click but Details doesn't come up for any.

Is this a known problem that I can resolve?  And is there another way to re-name a tape that is in the drive?

    If your job is appending to the tape, then it would not be relabeled.  For the relabeling to go through, your job must specify overwrite.

    Have you tried to do an inventory before doing a label job?

    Otherwise, instead of right-clicking on the drive, find the tape, right-click on it and choose rename.  The new label would be written onto the tape when the tape is next overwritten.  This is document in the document you are using.

    Hi pkh,

    I hadn't, but I have now, and still seeing the same behaviour.

    WRT to changing the label after finding the tape, I have tried that previously and the name doesn't seem to stick, as in the old name is reverted once the backup has completed.

    I've gone ahead and relabeled instead, and am going to re-run the backup.

    Thanks for the tips though.  Still don't know why my Details won't show in that screen though.

    I just figured that out too thanks blush

    I've re-run the backup after relabelling.  Just got a few more to do.

    If you set it to "Tree" view instead of "List" view, are you able to view the details. And is Backup Exec fully updated with the latest service pack & hotfix ?

    Since moving to a new tape, I can view Details in either view.

    I have had this problem previously though so if I encounter it again I know exactly what to try.
