SOLVED backup to disk folder offline error 33808, 34113, 58057

Hallo,

>>Job ended: Mittwoch, 18.Mai 2011 at 23:00:05

>>Completed status: Failed

>>Final error: 0xe000810c - Physical Volume Library Drive not available.

>>Final error category: Backup Device Errors

>>

>>For additional information regarding this error refer to lin V-79-57344-33036

  • Hi there,

It's been a while, but we figured out the Problem. It was pure coincidence that our Backupserver got unresponsive on a Tuesday and on the same day the internet broke, so i wasn't to access the Server remote to reboot it. And somehow the Backup ran on Wednesday.

The next week we used a new tape for the Tuesdaybackup and on Wednesday the Backup also ran without any issues.

My best regards to CraigV, thank you for the help.

  • Hi there,

Check your Device tab, and then right-click your tape drive. If it shows more than 2 hard errors, chances are good it is an issue with your drive and not your tapes.

Try a long erase of a tape in Backup Exec, and then run the job again.

If the job ONLY fails on a Tuesday, are you doing any sort of application maintenance during your backup window on this day>?

    thanks,!

  • Hi, thanks for the quick response.

I can't see any error if i right click the tape drive.

I guess i 'll give the long erase a try.

Yes, the job is only failing on Wednesday but we are not doing any kind of application maintenance during the week.

I've forgot to metion, that we use a script with pre- and postcommand to attach and detach the tapedevice, using the UUID of the device. And on wednesday it failes according to the error in Backupexec 2010 but when i look in the explorer the device is mounted. We are using the same script at various customers with the same OS and BackupExec Version, and it works everywhere, so I don't think it's a Problem with the script.
