SSL issues with backup exec 2014

Does anyone have any insturctions on how to update the ssl certificate in backup exec 2014?

Our scan shows that the symantec key strength is not strong enough. "Replace the current certificate with one using a high-grade public key strength of 2048 bits or higher" and "Reconfigure the affected application to use a high-grade encryption cipher."

  • You need to upgrade to BE 15 SP1 FP1.  See this blog

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/feature-pack-1-backup-exec-15-delivers-improved-performance-intelligent-backups-and-enhanced-p

The upgrade is free if you are on a current maintenance contract.

It is unlikely that the improved security features would be implemented for BE 2014

  • ...i don't think that's possible, and have never seen the request before. You would probably need to log a call directly with Symantec support and ask them, I've never seen a TN about this.

    THanks!
