System don't boot after SDR-recovery

Hello out there,

I tried to perform an SDR recovery of one of my DC (Windows Server 2008 R2) using a customized SDR disc (included the drivers of the "old" machine).

After adding a registry key as mentioned in http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH188910 the recovery process starts and I dont get any errors anymore.

But unfortunately I only have a black screen and a blinking cursor after rebooting the system.

Booting again by the SDR-disk shows all harddisks and partitions as its on my working machine.

Any suggestions how i can convince my recoverd Server to boot now?

Sorry for my bad english.

  • Check the boot order and ensure the boot partition is marked as active.

You may have to boot using the OS cd and then run repair options such as fixmbr.

I'm using an adaptec 6805 controller, and the 1st drive/array in order is the bootdrive.

Also i had moved all drives at the top and rebootet each time, no system boots.
