To exclude from audit log

I'm using Backup Exec 12.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2.

I would like to know how to exclude the accesses by system account used for Backup Exec such as 'bkadmin' from Windows Server's audit log.

Now I am applying audit policy only against some user accounts, but the accesses by 'bkadmin' has been recorded.Their process name is 'C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\beremote.exe'.

They are nothing but interruptions. Please teach me.

  • Hi,

firstly BE 12.5 is NOT supported to run on Windows Server 2008 R2 as a media server...you need to upgrade to BE 2010 R3 urgently, as this is #1 an unsupported configuration, and #2 you will end up running into issues.

BE 12.5 can only run on Server 2008 R2 as an agent...not a full media server!

Secondly, excluding the BESA account from a Windows audit log isn't a Symantec call, query or issue...I'd suggest logging this query with a Microsoft forum :)

    Thanks!
