Understanding the Scenario of server with backup
Hi folks.
Can any come on discussion and sort out my doubts. In licensing we have maintaince and License
when we purchase we buy maintaince and support for first time . how this relate means what exactly is maintainance and license is.
when comes to renewal point we only buy Maintaince but not License..why?
There are 2 types of licenses - perpetual and subscription.
You buy Perpetual license only once.
Maintenance is included in the 1st year's license.
Maintenance allows you to download hotfixes, patches and upgrade software without any additional cost, and also give you access to Veritas Support if you run into issues that you cannot solve yourself.Subscription license is cheaper than Perpetual, but you need to pay that every year. If you don't, the software stops working.
It seems you have Perpetual licenses. This means that you only need to renew maintenance.
