User controlled media set?
Hi all,
We have a server running veratas 8.6 on a Win2000 with an HP tape storage unit with a six slot magazine. When I create a backup job it is sent to the HP1 and is stored on a tape with hardly any problems. I would like to have the job saved on slot one for Monday, slot two for Tuesday and so on, rather than the random way it is currently done. I tried a user defined media set making the slot one called Monday, slot two as Tuesday, etc. But this requires that I have an individual backup definition for each day of the week. How can I make one job go to the desired tape slot on different days of the week as schedualed?
Thanks for any suggestions

- Try http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/206843.htmAfter you create 5 "one" slots partitions you will need 5 jobs for each day of the week. In the job setup on the General Tab you point the job to partition desired. You can get away with one media setLyon
