Verify of encrypted backup-set fails re key not provided

Hi Forum,

Using BE2012 SP1, Win2008 R2 SP1, to LTO5 via FC.

I've duplicated some backup-sets to tape, and used h/w encryption.

When I run a verify on the backup-set on tape, I don't get asked to supply which encryption key to use for the verify job, and so the verify job fails with:

Verify 00002 -- The job failed with the following error: Validation failed because of invalid encryption settings.  An encryption type was specified but an encryption key was not provided.

 

Where do I specify which encryption key to use for a verify job?

    I'm planning to update to SP4 very soon.

    Is there anything like an LBN page for BE ?

    And anything for BE like NBU's EEB listing doc?

    Nopes, there isn't one for BE currently. (LBN  -Late Breaking News & EEB - Emergency Engineering Binary). Closest one is https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/backup-and-recovery/issues

    BE doesn't provide EEBs, instead it releases hotfixes and service packs. Upon a particular release, it contains information as to what has been fixed.

    Though its a good idea for BE to have a similar page like LBN. Would recommend to post it as an Idea.
