VMWare backup issues - Unable to create the virtual disk.
Hi,
We use Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 with initial backup to disk. Based on a Windows 2008 server.
We have a local backup of the Backup Exec config which is running ok but the VMWare backups are failing with the errors below. We are using Backup Exec 2010 Agent for VMware VI with GRT. For the Virtual Machines we are backing them up at machine level using VSphere built in snapshots..
Any ideas on what is happening here?

As this is a DeDuplication Folder and not a traditional Backup to Disk Folder - please make sure all the DeDuplication Servcies are runnign and that non of them are reporting any application faults in yoru event logs.
Also as you are running DeDuplictaion I strongly advise using 2010 R3 9whihc you are) and the critical hotfixes that were released last week
Hotfix 159965 http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH159965
Hotfix 164220 http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH164220
BTW for anyone else reasing this I know the original poster does not mention VMware - but the \\.pdvfs share references relate directly to requirements for DeDuplication with GRT sets.
