Win 7 & backup exec

Is Symantec Backup exec 2010 supports windows 7 professional or windows XP ? I mean can I install & work with Backup exec 2010 (for testing purpose) on windows 7 or XP( on xp I have failed to do that now I am going to do that on Win 7 after getting information).

    BE media server does not support Win 7. Currently the only desktop OS supported as media server is XP, which would be discontinued in future version...And it supports server OS ranging from Windows 2003 onwards..

    Only BE2010 RAWS is supported on Win 7. You cannot install core product (media server) on Win 7.

    Win XP can be used as a media server and RAWS can be installed on XP too.

    EDIT: From next release onwards(BE2012) only server class OS will be eligible for being a Media server.
