Mirror Volume accross different filesystem layout

Hello All,

Is it possible to create a mirror across different filesystem layout version?

VxFS Version 7 disk layout VxFS Version 8 or 9 or10 disk layout.

    Hi!

    Unfortunately, no. A file system is always at a singular version.

    Mirroring is done at the volume level. I don’t think think it is possible to mirror two volumes at different VxVM versions.

    Can you share why this seems necessary? Maybe we can find another solution.

      Thank you for your reply.

      Snapshot is not working on version 10, but have tested on version 7.

      So, we want to copy a large volume from Version 10 to version 7.

      Looking for options.

        you will have to create a karge enough new vxfs with disk layout version 7 then do a data backup restore to put the data in the new vxfs created
