vcs in sles ppc

Hai all ,
             Currently i am installing VCS in SLES 10.2 ppc .My seniors said that we need to Recompile the kernel and do the patch installation for this task.So i followed the steps for Kernel Rebuilding.
But I am Getting following Error For Particular Command.

$ make install

*** No rule to make target 'install' . Stop

is anyone faced this issue?pls help

    Sounds to be more of Linux issue then Symantec issue .... Google around it & you get 100s of results... for e.g.

    For what you needed a kernel rebuilding ?

    Hai Gaurav,
                          If we install  VCS  with  default kernel patch,the node will be panic after rebooting the node. thats the problem.
