"Based on Search" for all nested departments

Is it possible to apply a "based on search" to all nested departments?  We have elected to structure our Departments by sales channel with nested departments by manager within the channel.  Generally, each nested department contains the same search criteria (different monitored employees).  It would gain efficiency if a "based on search" could be used for all nested departments.  Below is an illustration.   Many thanks.

  • Hello, admin laura;

    The 'based on search' option is to create a new search based on a search that has already been run and either accepted or is in a pending state.  That option is only available for searches within a CA Department, not its nested Departments.

    From your desription, it sounds like you want to run application level searches that are configured at the application level and have only the necessary Departments selected in which to run.  Check out the CA Reviewers' Gude and the CA Admin Guide for information about application level searches.

    Kind Regards,

    Ken

  • are you saying you need "based on search" to be dynamic so it enumerates all members of a group or whatever? i dont think you can do that. it's technically a template. i think your post would be good in the "ideas" section of the forum as a request for product enhancement.
