DLO 6.1 Migrating Storage location from one NETAPP to a new one

Hello,

We are using DLO 6.1 MP6, our storage location a NETAPP nas is full, so we have prepared a new NETAPP storage location: the idea is to mirror the Old dlo storage location to the new one and migrate the user can you validate the step below ?:

-Disable all the DLO User using: "dlocommandu.exe -EnableUser -D -SI 50" (this prevent any change from client during the mirror)

-Run the NETAPP mirror of Data on the new new NETAPP volumes)

-Create the new storage location on the new NETAPP when mirror is finished.

-Run "dlocommandu.exe -listsl" (to have the Storage ID of new storage location)
-Run "dlocommandu.exe -assignsl -SI 50 -NI 80" to change the storage location of the users

-Wait that the DLO client stop and restart (time need to be define: we have 500 users)
-Enable Users   "dlocommandu.exe -EnableUser -E -SI 80"

    Hi

    1. Stop the DLO Services.

    2. Close any Explorer window or application that may point to the existing storage location folders.

    3. Move one user network data folder with Windows Explorer (cut and paste) to the new storage location.

    4. Start the DLO Services.

    5. On the DLO Console, choose the affected user, and right click to select "move user network data folder".

    6. Select the new location and start the process. You should receive an error message stating that the folder does not exist. Continue the procedure until it finishes.

    The user will now be located in the new storage location.

    Note:  When trying to move the original folders from the existing storage location to the new one, some files may have long names and may not be moved. The folder will remain on the existing location with only those few files.

    In this case continue to follow step 4 and the rest, the old folder with a few files will be moved but the new location will still include all of the resource selections.

    Hi

    Yes it should work as described only the limitation is with the time it takes so in your case when we are considering 4tb of data yes it would take lot of time

    Hi and thanks for your comment,

    I wants to copy the data using mirroring fonction in Netapp (all the DLO users in one time is copied, we have made test; the NTFS securiry is also preserved), manully copy is not convenient because we have 500 DLO users with 4TB of data, that why I was thinking to an automated solution with command line, do you think it could works as I described ?
