Is it recommended to run Garbage Collection Utility periodically in DLO?

Hello All,

According to this articule https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000019619, is it a good practice to run a DDGC periodically in order to maintance the dedupe db ?

If yes, how often it would be necessary? JFYI, we have a 800 users active in our DB.

    Once a week is the usual recommendation. Though, this can increase depending upon the amount of data present, since this process is time consuming.

    Hi VJware,

    Thanks for your support, so according to your info, I could create a schedule task that runs DDGC once a week at night where the users aren't at the office. Right?

    Yes, preferably when the users are not logged in since this process would interrupt the ongoing backups by entering into a Maintenance Mode.
