Main points are CA is good for monitoring and compliance reporting, DA is good for investigations and applying Legal Holds to prevent items from being expired.

CA has a compliance workflow and is department driven, whereas DA is more of a legal workflow and is case driven.

  •  At the root of the ISO you should be able to find seperate folders of CA and DA installables along

with the EV installables folder. For differences between CA and DA refer to the below article

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO37959

  • Thanks Amol, got the differrences between CA and DA,

Do you know where can Symantec partners download EV install media from?

    Many Thanks

  • Hi,

The tech note below is very high level stuffs

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO37959

Maybe if there is any comparison table or more descriptive stuffs, specifying what CA can do DA can't do and what DA can do CA can't do, use cases for CA and DA would be really helpful.

Both seems to be doing similar sort of functions and very confusing for someone like me to understand the differrences between then.

    Many Thanks

  • AFAIK there is no article which shows comparison of CA and DA in a tabular form.

  • Hmmm, thanks, would you be able to explain in plain english few points about what CA can do but DA can't and vice versa and also some use cases for DA and CA please?

  • Thanks Tony, it's all started making sense now.

  • No problem,

Here are a couple things I found.  They are just flash demo's but should give you what you need to articulate the distinction between the two.  Just ingore the Discovery Collector bit in the DA one.

    Enterprise Vault Search and E-Discovery

See how you can leverage Discovery Collector’s active content collection and Discovery Accelerator’s advanced search and review capabilities to save significant time and cost in managing eDiscovery.
