EV Duplication DA Deduplication question

I know that DA shows duplicate messages in search results... and many of these duplications are not archived and taking storage space if they belong to the same Vault Store Group.

Can anyone provide some guidance on proving this?

I know I can create several Journal Mailboxes and Journal Archives, then compare the the duplicate search result's saveset ID's... These are different. How can I prove that each message is not being saved?

    Hi There,

    I don't have a great idea about EV OSIS model but on the DA side, two different items calculated as duplicates of each other as really the duplicates on the EV end.

    These items have different Saveset ID associated to it and they may be coming from different vault store group. I doubt that real duplicates with come from vaults store within the same group but I may be wrong in understanding that.

    On DA side, duplication only working the SavesetIDs which DA knows ( and are coming from EV due to Discovery Searches )

    Have a look at this whitepaper as it will be of a big help to under de-duplication in DA.

    1st of all, some of them are actually saved duplicates.  There is a size threshold where the OSIS model does not run against small emails.  The overhead of SIS outweighs the additional storage.  Knowing this, you then can understand where the duplicate emails originate.  DA has it's own de-dupe process to weed out these instances.
