How Do I Remove Items from Vault using Discovery Accelerator

Can I use Discovery Accelerator to remove emails from Enterprise Vault? I am searching my vault for system messages, alert messages, etc. There are well over 1 million. Most of them are in closed partitions.

  • If you have a large environment...you can use DA to find the items without ACCEPTING the results.

Example: Run a test search in DA to identify what archives hold the items you are looking for based on your search criteria. Once the search has been completed...view which archives hold the items found based on the HITS column of your search status.

Then go to the "Search.asp" option to delete those items.

Once all items are deleted...you can go back to DA and Reject / Run the search again to assure that all items were purged.

    Hope it helps!
    Thanks,

  • Nope, DA cannot be used for deleting emails.
You would have to use Search.asp or other methods that allow deletions

  • I agree with JW2. DA is only used for discovery

You would be better of to use search.asp to find the items and then delete the items from there as suggested by JW2

  • surely its just easier to give the EVAdmin read/delete permissions to all archives then search on the criteria and on the Select Vaults drop down list use "ALL VAULTS"
becuase you will need the EVAdmin to have delete permissions anyway based on this method
