what is deployment scanner is showing you.you can find the required ports in the below:
Destination ports required by Enterprise Vault (veritas.com)
no specefic requirement for journal archive, other than you will add the journal mailbox from exchange and adding it to EV.
if you have multiple exchange, try to specify one mailbox in the EV hosts file, to avoid loadbalancer (if you have any).
what is  it showing you,when you are trying to add an exchange to EV?
