Authorization Manager - Read-only view to everything within VAC

Hi There,

Can anyone please provide a list of exact minimum options that I need to add for allowing somone just read-only view to everything within VAC that an admin can see. But not permission to change any settings or add / remove anything.

Also what are the various tag {DIR},  {STO}, {REP} etc. means?

Also what are the differrence between "Can Administer"and "Can Manage"?

EV version is 10.0.1

    Last entry (of me) has minimum permissions. This is read-only. it will not allow any reconfig/delete/add.

    The remark to have a pre-configured role should be placed in the ideas section. The explanation of the tags is poorly documented, but should also be placed in the ideas section. This ideas section is monitored by Symantec, and are evaluated, and (if valid, or found usefull) will be incorporated in the product.

    I don't recall having had explanation on this in a training course, but having a testsystem to play with sure helps :-)

    Yes have seen this article, looks like this is very old post and not up to date. I have applied all settings mentioned in this article, but there are issues, such as not everything Read-Only as expected, can delete archives, can start stop tasks, don't see any services and lot of others issues.

    Thanks, but not useful for creating a Read Only role, there should be one pre configured role with EV installation for Read-only stuffs. Also doesn't explain what are the {DIR} {STO} {REP} etc. tags are. and differrence betweeb "Can Administer" and "Can manage"

    just to clarify, are you telling me that the article titled "
