Auto Enableing Email Boxes

All,

Deploying Evault for Exchange here, and created policies, retentions, provisioning jobs, is there a way to ensure that all email boxes are enabled, and are archiving.

The policies are not the defaults, I left those alone but, createed new ones and the provisioning jobs are all pointing to the new policies and retentions, vault stores, and what not.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Regards,

Steve
  • If you want to auto-enable mailboxes make sure that you have the 'auto-enable" mailboxes turned on - right click the properties of the particular provisioning group you wish to apply this to and find the auto-enable setting. Once you have enabled it all existing and new mailboxes in that provisioning group will be enabled automatically the next time the archive task runs in normal or report mode (usually scheduled archive run but you can force a run now if you like).

  • You can take a look at the http:\\sitealias\enterprisevault\usage.asp page.

Or if you have reporting installed there are usage reports to view.
  • All,

I just want to clarify what I am trying to accomplish, I want to make sure when a new user is added, that the archiving is enabled on that particular mailbox, I do not want to have to go and "enable" the mailbox through the GUI.

  • Andra is correct.

I keyed in on " is there a way to ensure that all email boxes are enabled, and are archiving."

If you look at the usage report it will show the archives for the mailboxes and you can see they are archiving.  Sorry for the confusion.  :)
