Backing Up Placeholder FIle Archiving Shortcuts

When trying to back up placeholder shortcuts we are experiencing real issues. we are getting many 'corrupt' tems reported or 'access denied' messages in the backup log when I know that they are not corrupt files, just that they are placeholder shortcuts. We use a slightly older version of backup exec than is current (v9) to do our backups. I have tried using the evfsbackupmode.exe program but it doesn`t seem to have any effect (not sure if I am using it correctly because whn I run a command there is no acknowledgement that it has actually run).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Can you configure it to ignore offline files? Putting FSA in backup mode will just keep the backup software from trying to recall the file. If I understand you correctly, BE is reporting the errors for the files, so it sounds like it doesn't know what to do with the shortcut..
