Calculate the additional Vault Store database capacity required for metadata stores

Hello,

In the "Symantec Enterprise Vault™ SQL Best Practices 11.0", there is the following information:

Spoiler
Calculate the additional Vault Store database capacity required for metadata stores, when enabled.
Metadata stores (MB) = (0,73m + 0,44f + 0,63d)/1024

My Vault Store Usage Reporter:

Active ArchivesTotal ItemsTotal Size (MB)Awaiting Backup
 13 098 192 994 077 60 980 789 2 253

In my calculation I'll need  extra 43 GB - (0,73 x 60980789) / 1024 = 43 472,63 MB.

Is my calculation correct?

  • Hello

Looking at the guide you mention, it states:

Calculate the additional Vault Store database capacity required for metadata stores, when enabled.
    Metadata stores (MB) = (0.73m + 0.44f + 0.63d)/1024
    Where:
m Total archived Exchange mailbox messages
    d Total archived Domino messages
f Total archived file based items

    In your example:

    0.73*192994077=140885676,21/1024=137583.67 (MB)/1024=134.36GB

Somewhere above it states you need a 'significant rise in storage usage'...
