client toolbar not showing the correct shortcuts

hi all ive got ev 8 sp3. just created a new provisioning group etc to allow select users to actually delete their archived contents forever. testing it using my account. no matter what i do i cant get the icons to show on the toolbar or list in the enterprise vault menu under tools in outlook. ive run the provisioning task, cleared the forms cache and tried everything but its still not appearing. can anyone help? deletion has been enable in site properties. thanks
  • I'm pretty sure it does go back to the original location in the archive, however its not going to recover the shortcut , so you're going to have to check it in Archive Explorer or Search.asp

  • just got all the buttons. not sure how but i ran resetevclient restarted outlook and all good. thanks for the help guys. something to do with extend.dat??
  • sorry one final question... now i have the functionality to delete properly with icons etc, is there a dumpster or equivalent so i can see whats been deleted/is recoverable etc? couldnt find anything in the documentation. im asking because of the site properties check box "enable recovery of user deleted items" this is checked and set to 7 days
  • The only way to tell if items have been deleted but are still in the dumpster is from the properties of each Archive on the deleted items tab

  • Hi thanks for that ok this really is the last question :) where on earth does ev put the items you recover? ive searched high and low.. not in original location, not in restored items, not in subfolder of inbox.

  • This is the right answer :) We don't recreate shortcuts for items that have been restored from the Dumpster, they are simply returned to the Archive
