Collect & Migrate question (Migrate related)

Hello all,

I am having a total blank here.

I am in the process of advising my customer to use migration of the cab-files to secondary storage. Collections have been running fine.

When enabling Migrate, and test, can it be disabled again? I believe it can (Collections cannot be, and need to be to clean up the ARCH-files), but I am not sure.

Can it also be 'reverted'? Would it be possible to copy back the cab-files to the original location, and then do 'something' in SQL to make it work again. I believe not, but am not sure.

Thanks.

Gertjan!

  • Don't know with regards to collections... I was referring to 'unmigrate'.

But if you're 'just' migrating to some random NAS, then the NBU/EV unmigrate (if it were ever shipped) wouldn't help you anyway :(

  • Pretty sure you can turn it off...

And I vaguely recall an unmigrate option (if you use NBU) .. but can't remember if it shipped in a particular version of EV/NBU.

  • I believe it was uncollect, which was replaced by functionality in EVSVR?
