Configure VCS after migrating EV to new HW

I am migrating my EV 11.0.1 to new HW.  I would like to set it up in a cluster using VCS.  Any tips on gettig this acconplished. Also I am new to my EV environment.  They have two servers EV1 & EV2.  There is not clustering service present on either servers.  I can't seem to figure out the purpose of the servers.  Any idea on why there wooud be two servers but no clustering service present.  Both servers are present in the EV console.

    Hi mate,

    This is not a straightforward migration and I would suggest involving a Veritas partner/specialist for this.

    EV is a cluster-aware application and it supports Active-Passive mode, hence you will have to prepare 4 new servers, 2 for each current EV standalone server. 

    At a very high level, these are the steps you will need to follow:

    1. Prepare the new servers, install InfoScale (which includes VCS), install EV - refer this document
    2. Storage configuration
    3. Configure base EV cluster
    4. Use the EV migration wizard to migrate EV from current (standalone) servers to new (clustered) servers - refer this technote

    Note that SQL migration may be required as well. See compatibility chart here.
