customized banner

Hi

I just configured a customized banner for archived items shortcut, on the policy.
The shourcut displayes the first 100 characters of the archived mail.

1) when i double click the shortcut i could see the archived mail and the attachment with no problem.

2) When i click the banner "View the original itme"( thru outlook preview pane) to open the mail item instead of double click, the message opens in a browser and prompts me for the login
is it the normal behaviour to open the archived mail in the browser when using the banner?

Regards,
  • Is the serveralias part of the link in Local Intranet zone?

    ie http://serveralias/enterprisevault/.....
  • it is if your ev site is set to not use the integrated windows auth. Do you get a prompt if you try to do a websearch or AE?

    micah
  • My problem is not authentication.

  • If you are clicking the link, yes.

That is called the Universal Shortcut and you need it if you have mac clients.

If you double click the message in OL it opens as a msg.
  • I am using the universal link for my shortcuts. When I click the link to open the message I am prompted for authentication.

I believe I have use intergrated authentication set everywhere, but I am still prompted. Where could I be missing this check?

  • For my issue, it turned out that the policy was not updating the trusted sites. Once I added my servers to the trusted list, user prompts disappeared.
