Deleting Message Queues After Mailbox server removal

Hi there,

Im sure this is a simple one but i cant find anything in the admin guide or online about this one.

Ive decomissioned one of our mailbox servers from EV, cleanly as far as im aware!

However in the Message Queuing\Private Queues\ all of the Journal and Mailbox archiving queues still all exist.

Is it a simple case to right click - delete to get rid of them or is there an offical way? I presume there is nothing in SQL either to clean off?

To confirm the server is off and object has been removed from console and all tasks have been removed.

Thanks for any help

  • Hi EVGarrison,

Yes, that is correct. If you have more archiving tasks on this server, you got to make sure you are removing the correct set of queues. Just confirm that the queue contains the name of the decomissioned Exchange server.

    I hope this helps.
