E-Discovery

We had a consultant set our E-discovery environment. At this time we have three Exchange severs with about 700 users. He also set up three E-Discovery servers in each site. At this time the servers are configure as the following; C:drive 100 GB, I:drive (Indexes) 600 GB and the V:drive (Vault) 700 GB. My question is do we need all that space for the I: Drive or can we shrink the drive space to a lower amount with out the possibility for running out of the space for the Index's further down the road?
Thanks,
