Enterpise Vault 10 to Netapp

I was wondering if EV10 could FSA off my windows file servers(source) to a Netapp(target) ?

  • I think you mean the NetApp would be the vault store where archived items are stored?  Target typically refers to the source data that is archived.

Either way, yes, EV can archive your Windows Servers and use NetApp for storage or vice-versa.

You would want to check the compatibility doc to verify version and such.

  • give the Setting_up_File_System_Archiving.pdf doc a thorough read and you should be ok.  EV really doesn't care what the Vault Store Partition is in relation to the source data.

As always, you might be better off working with Symantec Partner to scope out your environment if you are looking to add on to your existing installation.

  • Yes the netapp would have the vault store, right now i have exchange 2007 archive working this way but am unsure about configuring the FSA piece.

thank you for the quick turn around
