Enterprise Vault - "Archive mailboxes in this provisioning group"

Hi

If a bunch of users have been part of a provisioning group with the "Archive mailboxes in this provisioning group" box ticked - what is the user experience if this box is then 'unticked'?

  • Do they lose any EV buttons in their Outlook?
  • Will they still be able to recall items via existing shortcuts?
  • And will they still be able to search (assuming they had the 'Search' button) the archives they have permissions to?

I guess I'm just asking if the only impact of unticking this checkbox is that these users will not have any 'new' items archived by EV.

    Agree with Tonaco, as addition, as long as you leave the "hidden message" in the mailbox, user should be able to search and open items from archive. As archiving no longer takes place, mailbox will grow.

    Hi KeirL,

    This is what the help says, I never did this, but I think the mailbox in that provisioning group will not archive, everything else will work

    • Archive mailboxes in this provisioning group. Select this to make Enterprise Vault archive from mailboxes that are part of this provisioning group. Clear this to turn off archiving from mailboxes in this provisioning group.
