enterprise vault - exchange server - Synchinimgrationmode

Hi Guys,

 A client recently moved to Exchange 2010, but the techs who performed this did not configure the synchinmigrationmode registry setting before moving the mailboxes.

I now have been given the task of setting setting up/upgrading their EV server.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can proceed with this? Any useful links to any doco re. this would greatly appreciated.

    So what is the exact issue you are now facing, do all users have duplicate archives and you need to get them onto one archive each?

    If so follow this technote  -  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH43220

    Then once you have done that set the SyncInMigrationMode regkey if you have any further migrations that need to happen  -  http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO32318

     

    If you are seeing event warnings because the regkey wasnt set simply set it now and then EV will do the rest to correct itself, see the following for more information  -  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH48928

    Specifically the section under  'Additional notes on the SynchInMigrationMode Registry setting'
     

     

    With regards to upgrading the EV Server that all depends on which version they are on now and which version they are moving to. As well as if they are using new hardward etc.

    Thanks Ben,

    I just wasn't sure if there was another procedure to follow in case the mailboxes were moved without the key being set.

    I'll set the key now and add the new exchange server.

    Not a problem at all, glad to help, if you have any more issues just let us know.

    Just to explain myself a little clearer, when I say 'EV will take care of the rest', this will happen on the next scheduled or manual run of the Provisioning Task, so you can speed up the 're-link time' if you like by running the Provisioning Task manually, or simply wait for EV to do its work.
