Enterprise Vault 10

Anyone any idea when enterprise vault 10 would be released?

I'm looking for a full ev client for outlook 2010.

Thanks,

JB

  • As far as I know EV10 is expected somewhere in Q3 2011 (juli/august/september),

You could ask your Product Manager  at Symantec for a more precise time-frame

  • I agree with Rahul on the date.. it's "around then".

There is no full client for Outlook 2010 in the EV 10 release though.  I take it you mean "full" as in DCOM client, as in ability to store an item and pick the archive it goes to, and to see the folder properties for EV when you right click on a folder?  If so, then ..  that's not in EV 10.

  • Thanks for the response.

I'm having an issue with our current ev 9.0 SP1 installation and the http-only client.

The guys from support told me as a solution to wait for the full dcom client in ev 10.

I'll get back to support and see what they will be saying on this information.

    Regards,

    JB

  • I should add .. the eventual goal is to add the functionality which is missing in to the HTTP client.  This isn't EV 10 though, currently.

  • I answered back to the support engineer (Rahul Gupta) about the full client that would not be available in ev 10.

He will check with someone from the engineering team or with you about this.

    Thanks for the help.

    JB

  • Ahh JB.. he already did :)  And I told him that the DCOM / full client for Outlook 2010 is not planned for EV 10.

He also explained the problem ...  I've pinged a question to the Dev Managers for the client to see which behaviour is "right", whether the full client should allow manual archiving when "Do not Archive" has been set, or whether the lite client should.  I can see an argument both ways as it were.. You've set "Do not archive", so nothing should.. however, you've overriden it by clicking on the manual archiving button, so it should override the policy.  50/50 as to which is right in my opinion.
