Enterprise Vault 9.0.5 Event ID 2267

Hi,

Full text of the Event ID is:

Failed to make the message titled: "Message Subject" Archive Pending for Mailbox "Mailbox DN"

I have 1,000 of these from 8 (of 5,000) specific users, we archive 1,000 messages per archive run.

Previously I have seen these relate to mailbox quota limits in Exchange but for these 8 mailboxes I cannot find any reason for it.

Read http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH51036, can't see it personally and odd how it errors for the 1,000 eligible messages for these specific mailboxes.

Any suggestions or suggestions to troubleshoot further?

Thanks

  • Hi,

Have you tried archiving one of the affected item manually from outlook.

We would require a Dtrace and you can follow the below steps.

    1. Enable Dtrace on ArchiveTask you can refer the article How to run a Dtrace - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH38122
    2. Right-click on the Mailbox archiving task and do a run now for selected mailbox.
    3. You can specify how many items to be archived (atleast 200 would be good)
    4. You need to choose one of the affected user.
    5. Wait untill you get few instance of the Event ID 2267.
    6. Upload the log.

I'll analyze and get back to you.

    Regards,

  • Thank you A_J, should I DTrace specific processes (ArchiveTask? verbose?) or just run it without any options?

  • Yes you need to Dtrace Only 'ArchiveTask' in Verbose.

  • Also as i said earlier can you try Manually Archive an Items from Outlook..

You can find the Message from the Event logged and the User.

Lets see what result we get by doing..

  • Thanks for your help A_J.

I restarted the task controller service and ran a manual archive of 250 items for the 8 mailboxes and these completed without error.

The overnight archiving also completed with no errors logged.

I'll continue to monitor and run the DTrace if I get any recurrence.
