Enterprise Vault archiving Tasks

Is there a way to select what parts of a users mailbox to archive ie I do not want to archive the users tasks.

  • Yes,

You can acomplish this by using message calsses.  You can go a bit futher and use folders too, but that will not cover you if a user move a task. So your best bet is to to use message clases.

You can find futher information in the Administration Guide.  (Site Settings - Message Calsses & Policy Settings - Message Calsses)

  • Tasks are not archived by default. Assuming EV8: You can select the message classes which get archived in the VAC on the Exchange Mailbox Policy -> Message Classes. IPM.Task* should not be ticked. If you want to exclude specific folders from archiving, e.g. Sent Items, you would need to fire an EVPM script. This is described in the file "Utilities.pdf / .chm", chapter "Policy Manager" Cheers
