Error storing Saveset in EMC Centera Clip

Hello.

I've got a Problem with archiving some mails to a centera.

I get the following error message:

And a seccond message:

All these mails have got a digital signature. In my test environment (NFTS, no centera) there is no problem with these mails.

Are there any known problems and how can I solve it?

Thank you.

viktor

  • Does this happen on every E-Mail which gets stored?

Could it be a connection problem?

Datenträgerfehler bei Schreibvorgang sounds like a Centera issue, not EV...

Have you got the CenteraVerify tool, if yes, could you try it out?

It shouldn't matter if the E-Mails are signed or not.

    Cheers

  • Hi Michel,

    Thanks for your answer.

But no, other messages can be archived without problems. We already executed CenteraVerify and it returned no problems. Everythink seems to be fine.

How can I verify that it is a Centera-problem?

  • Hi,

Get a dtrace of storagearchive process and reproduce the problem and log a support case.  I think that's the best next step.

  • Viktor,

I think I'm having the same problem that you are. In our environment EV displays the same behavior when the Archiving Task encounters a message of IPM.Note.SMIME.* class that is missing the SMIME.* file attachment.

The 6592 error means that EV is skipping the message. I have not found Dtrace to be of much use in determining the reason the message was skipped, but if you check the message using MFCMAPI, see if it has an SMIME.p7s file in the attachment table.

Whenever I get 6592 errors, they are because we have an SMIME message in a user's Exchange mailbox that is missing it's SMIME attachment. The SMIME.p7s file contains the digital signature and any other file attachments.

I haven't been able to determine how these messages are losing their attachments.

It seems like earlier versions (we are now using 7.5 SP3) used to archive these messages, rather than skip them. Now EV skips them, but ones that were previously stored in the archive can't be restored directly to Exchange. (If you search the KB for 2227 and 2270, you'll see my lengthy post on that subject.)

I'd be curious to know if you're having the same problem when you get these 6592 errors.

    Regards,
    Ethan
