EV - Event Viewer Access Denied (new license)

Hi,

I have a problem with the Eventlog of Enterprise Vault.

When I try to open the "Application..:" "Enterprise Vault" Log in Event viewer I get "Acces denied (5)"

This first occured when we have upgraded the license file.

Kind regards

  • Hi

Can you please check the log path for “VERITAS Enterprise Vault”? (Open event viewer, right click on ‘Veritas Enterprise Vault’, select ‘Properties’, log path). If this is set to other than below location then it should be change to appropriate location mentioned below.

    %SystemRoot%\System32\Winevt\Logs\Veritas Enterprise Vault.evtx

    Similarly for ‘Veritas EV converters’
    %SystemRoot%\System32\Winevt\Logs\Veritas Enterprise Vault Converters.evtx

    And Veritas EV CryptoModule
    %SystemRoot%\System32\Winevt\Logs\Veritas Enterprise Vault CryptoModule.evtx

The only situation that I know this issue may happen when admin install outlook-EV addin on EV server itself. Please also let me know if you have opened support case for this issue?

  • I assume you are referring to the Window Event Viewer?

Can you share the EV version and EV Server OS version?

  • EV 12

    with Windows 2012 R2

Yes i mean Windows Event Viewer

  • Is only the Enterprise Vault logs that you are not able to view in Event Viewer or all logs like system, applications etc?

    Is VSA in local admins?

Are you able to view the logs when you log in as a domain admin?

Any permission errors in Deployment Scanner?

  • Hi,

I have no errors in Deployment scanner.

I will check the path today and write back.
