  • So it didn't restore it to the folder in the mailbox out chose. It restored it to the folder in your own mailbox?
  • Yep, exactly Rob!

Maybe something you can test if you have the time :-)

  • So I built a 'typical' manager - secretary relationship in EV.

I logged in as the secretary, and tried to restore an item from my archive to the managers inbox folder.

I was allowed to select it, but the restore said it was going to:

    \\sec1@ev.local\Inbox

And that's where it was restored to.

I think the best bet is to report this as a bug to SYMC Support - but I'm not sure whether it will get a high level of priority to fix it, or prevent it from happening in the folder selection window.

  • If you login with User A and if you want to restore items to the mailbox of User B then you need to

specify User B's mailbox account and Exchange server name in the User Preferences.

Click on the Preferences icon next to the User's display name (top right corner of the page), navigate

to the Exchange tab and enter the required deatils.

Note: Above will work only if User A has write permissions on User B's mailbox.

  • That didn't work for me... I mean it at least tried to export it to the right place, but then I saw:

And yes my sec1 user has full access to the mgr1 mailbox:

Oh and this doesn't really work anyway... because if I then try to restore something to my sec1 mailbox, as myself, it tries to restore it to the mgr1 mailbox :(

So if it did work, you'd have to go and make the change in preferences, then restore, then undo the change in preferences.

  • Sorry, I was away for a moment.

Indeed, I testet everything and it doesn't work as it should be!

Will report it as a bug!
