EV cross forest archiving
Looking for some guidance on the following setup that we're planning:
We have implemented a new Windows 2008 forest with Domain controller running 2008 R2 and it is planned to install Enterprise Vault 8 SP4 into this domain. Our resource is at the 2003 functional level and a two way forest trust exists between the two. Forefront identity manager is being used to keep the forest AD's in synch.
Exchange 2007 CCR cluster is running in the resource forest and the plan is to archive from this exchange server into the EV installation in the new forest.
Would this scenario work and if so could anyone point me in the direction of any articles that could provide additional information.

Personally i think the plan is good shouldn't have an issue there
I don't really know what documentation you may find that is any more relevant than the documentation released with Enterprise Vault (i.e. the Introduction, planning and installing docs)
I would recommend however going to EV9 straight off or EV8 SP5 instead of SP4.
Plus really if this is a brad new installation I would urge you to contact symantec or a partner as any misconfiguration that you start out with can become a major issue down the road that may be difficult to overcome.
Also there is the issue of sizing and planning for future growth etc
